Troubleshooting

Segment Loss

Cause:

Overheating- blade has bluish color on steel core.

Remedy:

Wet cutting; make sure adequate water flow is being supplied to both sides of blade. Dry cutting; back blade out of cut and run freely every few minutes to
allow blade to be air cooled.

Cause:

The material slips during sawing and jams or twists the segment causing segment loss.

Remedy:

Firmly secure material while cutting.

Arbor Hole Out of Round

Cause:

Arbor hole is worn badly out of round due to improper installation.

Remedy:

Make sure blade collar is properly tightened. Make sure blade is mounted on proper diameter spindle. Make sure blade collars are not worn or dirty, not allowing proper
tightening. On concrete saws make sure pinhole slides over the pin drive properly.

Blades Wobbles

Cause:

Blade is mounted on a defective saw.

Remedy:

Check saw for defects. Make sure blade is run at correct rpm. Check blade collar diameters. (must be same on both sides) Make sure blade is not bent as a result of dropping or twisting in a cut.

Undercutting

Cause:

Eroding of the steel core that supports the segment, causing the segment to eventually fall off during cutting.

Remedy:

Provide adequate water flow to the steel center and the area being cut to remove the abrasive slurry. Provide undercut protection in the form of kicker and slant segments.

Cracked Segment

Cause:

Blade is too hard for material being cut

Remedy:

Use correct blade with a softer bond.
